"Loloya" Loloy's daughter...
Loloy's Legacy
On the vibrant streets of Maracaibo, Venezuela, art is not only observed, it is experienced. And among the names that resonate most strongly in the mural scene is that of Loloy, a painter who has left his mark in every corner of the city. Known for painting under the cover of night and moving in a limousine, always accompanied by his daughter, Loloy transformed each wall into a canvas full of life and color.
A Legacy in the Blood
I am Loloya, daughter and apprentice of Loloy, and my story begins with the inheritance of my father and grandfather. For as long as I can remember, art has been a constant in my life. My first passion was always painting. I remember how, every year, I would ask Saint Nicholas for as many crayons, paints, and reams of paper as possible. There was nothing that made me happier than painting for hours and accompanying my father on his nighttime adventures around the city, helping him with each mural he created.
Growing up in a World of Art
Our house is a haven of creativity, always full of paintings, murals, easels and paintings. Living in such an environment shaped my artistic spirit and led me to become my school's muralist and painter. Through each brushstroke and each color, I connect with the essence of my family and the vibrant culture of Maracaibo.
Art in My Heart
Although music eventually became my first passion, painting remains a deep love in my life. Every time I pick up a paintbrush, I feel the presence of my father and grandfather, as if their hands guide mine. Loloy's heritage not only lives on the walls of Maracaibo, but also in my heart.
